Papa Needs a Weekend

It's 9:00 p.m. on Thursday night as I'm writing this.
Normally, the newsletter is already finished by now. Tonight? Not so much.
Since 6:00 this morning I've been bouncing from Zoom call to Zoom call, helping one client launch a brand-new business, helping another rebrand an existing travel company, talking with a cruise line about future group departures, building part of a website, evaluating a sales page, and somehow squeezing four separate meetings into the middle of all that.
My brain currently feels like somebody ran it through a blender and forgot to put the lid on.
The funny thing is that most people only see the finished product. They see the newsletter arrive. They see the trips appear. They see the magazine show up every month. What they don't always see is the mountain of conversations, planning, spreadsheets, emails, contracts, websites, marketing, and problem-solving that happens behind the scenes to make all of it work.
Don't get me wrong. I love what I do.
But even Papa occasionally looks at the calendar and realizes he needs a minute.
So here's your official warning: there will be no official newsletter on Sunday.
I may toss up a quick post reminding everyone that there are years of articles, photos, travel stories, interviews, and member content waiting in the archives if you're looking for something to read with your morning coffee. But as far as a full newsletter goes, I'm taking the day off.
Sometimes self-care isn't a meditation retreat.
Sometimes self-care is simply not opening the laptop.
Thank you for being part of this wonderfully weird little community we've built together. Thank you for reading, traveling, sharing stories, sending photos, attending coffee chats, and generally making all of this worthwhile.
Now if you'll excuse me, Papa is officially out of gas.
