There’s something magical that happens when people gather to laugh together. Shoulders drop. Guards come down. Strangers become friends somewhere between the first chuckle and the uncontrollable snort-laugh you absolutely did not plan on making in public. Now imagine all of that… with a little less fabric and a lot more freedom.
On Saturday, May 9, the folks at Pittsburgh Area Naturists are inviting you to experience exactly that at Bare Belly Laughs: Comedy With Nothing to Hide, a body-positive stand-up comedy night at The Glitterbox Theater in Homestead, Pennsylvania, running from 8:00 to 10:30 pm. And yes, the name tells you everything you need to know. This is comedy where authenticity is the dress code.
We’ve all heard comedians say they imagine the audience naked to calm their nerves. At this show, that step is already taken care of. The result isn’t shock value. It’s comfort. It’s community. It’s the kind of relaxed atmosphere where laughter comes easier because nobody is pretending to be anything other than human.
Hosted by Roy Gloeckl, the evening promises a full lineup of local comedians bringing sharp wit, playful irreverence, and jokes bold enough to match the setting. Expect humor that’s honest, a crowd that’s welcoming, and an energy that feels more like a gathering of friends than a traditional night out.
If you’re new to naturist spaces, this is a surprisingly perfect introduction. The vibe is intentionally friendly and low-pressure. Nudity is encouraged as part of the liberating spirit of the event, but comfort always comes first. Favorite undies are perfectly welcome if that’s where your confidence lives. The goal isn’t perfection. It’s participation.
The evening keeps things easy and social. It’s BYOB, street parking is available, and the atmosphere leans casual and conversational. Bring a towel, bring a bag for your belongings, and most importantly, bring your sense of humor.
Just as important as the laughter are the community values behind it. Pittsburgh Area Naturists emphasize respect, consent, and inclusivity. All genders, sexualities, and body types are welcome. Sexual activity is not permitted, harassment is not tolerated, and photography or video is strictly off-limits. This creates a space where people can genuinely relax, knowing they’re surrounded by mutual respect.
Because that’s the real punchline here. Naturism isn’t about exhibitionism. It’s about comfort in your own skin, shared humanity, and the simple joy of showing up as yourself. Add comedy to the mix, and you get something rare: a night where laughter feels freer, connection feels easier, and nobody has anything to hide.
So if your calendar could use a little more joy, a little more community, and maybe a story you’ll be telling for years, Bare Belly Laughs might be exactly your kind of night.
Leave your worries at the door. Leave your clothes there too, if you like. Just don’t leave without laughing.
