Stop Typing the Same Things Over and Over on Your Apple Devices
Use Text Replacement to Save Hours Every Month
If you find yourself constantly typing your email address, phone number, business tagline, website, or even the same canned responses over and over — there’s a built-in Apple feature that can save you a ton of time.
It’s called Text Replacement, and it works across your iPhone, iPad, and Mac through iCloud.

What Is Text Replacement?
Text Replacement lets you create a short shortcut that automatically expands into a longer phrase.
For example:
• Type: @infon
• It automatically becomes: info@nudecomputerguys.com
Instead of typing your full email every time, you type just a few characters and Apple fills in the rest instantly.

1. Open Settings
2. Tap General
3. Tap Keyboard
4. Tap Text Replacement
5. Tap the + in the top right
6. Enter:
   • Phrase = What you want inserted
   • Shortcut = What you’ll type

Tap Save — and you’re done.

1. Open System Settings
2. Click Keyboard
3. Click Text Input
4. Select Text Replacements
5. Click the + button
6. Add your phrase and shortcut
