How secure is your Google account?
If you’re using a simple password — or worse, the same password across multiple sites — your Gmail account may not be as secure as you think. One of the easiest ways to add an extra layer of protection is by enabling Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) adds an additional step when logging into your account, requiring more than just your password. Think of it like locking your front door and then setting the alarm — even if someone gets your key, they still can’t get in without that second verification. MFA typically uses a combination of something you know (your password), something you have (a code sent to your phone or an authentication app), or something you are (like your fingerprint or Face ID). For the average consumer, this means that even if your password is exposed in a data breach or phishing scam, hackers still can’t access your email, banking apps, social media, or Google and Apple accounts without that second step. It’s one of the simplest and most effective ways to dramatically improve your online security — and everyone should turn it on wherever it’s available.
