That Voice You Hear in NYC is a Transgender Woman

I'm very used to hearing my voice in public places. It's something I'm so used to that I really don't give it. Second thought any longer. Please stand away from the platform edge. It's part of everyday life. Please stand away from the platform edge. I'm Bernie Wagon Blast from Cranford, New Jersey, and I am one of the voices of the New York City Subway 28th.

I've been the voice for 15 years, but I came out as a transgender woman a little over a year ago. Sometimes the guy voice will break. It's kind of like going through puberty again. World, world, world Trade Center. But I could go from this voice to the next uptown. Number five is approaching the station.

I take the subway once or twice a week. Hearing my old male voice really does not bother me, and it's kind of flattering to have somebody come up to you. I've been asked to take a selfie. I hope by having people know that this voice that they've heard for years and years is a transgender person that I might contribute just a bit to making trans people more accepted by the rest of the world.
